Social media was flooded with reactions after a fabricated document involving Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, went viral on Tuesday. The list, which claimed to represent the group's Central Executive Committee (Women's Wing), unexpectedly included actress Puja Chery, naming her as the Law and Human Rights Secretary under the "Non-Muslim Branch." This false information quickly led to widespread discussion and confusion.

The fake list quickly sparked debate online. Multiple sources have confirmed that the document is fake, and no such committee or list has been issued.

Puja Chery took to her verified Facebook page to address the matter, expressing her frustration and disbelief. "I don't usually respond to rumours, as they are common for public figures, but this is different," she said in her post on Tuesday evening. "This rumour isn't just baseless—it brings religion into the mix, which disrespects all communities."

She wrote, "I genuinely can't understand how people can spread such baseless rumours. Usually, I ignore rumours because it's common for media personalities or celebrities to be targeted. However, today's rumour involves religion, and this crosses the line. Such rumours disrespect all religions, and it's simply not right to create or spread them, especially when they impact race, religion, or identity."

In her closing statement, the actress added, "I am an artist. I love the Bengali film industry, and I respect my profession. I am not involved in any political activities."
