Makeup film gets release date after a three-year halt

The film 'Makeup', directed by Anonno Mamun, is finally set to release in cinemas this Friday, 10 January, after a three-year ban by the previous Censor Board. 

 

The film was originally prohibited in 2021 due to allegations that it portrayed figures from the film industry in a negative light. While it has been available on an OTT platform since its initial release, it will now make its big-screen debut.

The film stars Tariq Anam Khan, Ziaul Roshan, Saif Chandan, Kazi Uzzal, Payel Mukherjee, and Bishwanath, each bringing their unique talents to the project.

Director Anonno Mamun expressed his excitement, "After many years, it is a great joy for me to see the film being released in theatres. Although there was a delay, I released the movie on an OTT platform three years ago, generating some income. Now, with 22 theatres confirmed for release, I hope the balance between income and expenses will be achieved, even though the number of theatres is fewer than expected."
