Around 2:30 PM today, a transmission line in Bangladesh connected to the Adani Power Plant in India tripped, cutting off power production from the facility.
The transmission line problem, according to PDB spokesperson Shameem Hasan, has been resolved.
He continued, "The plant will resume operation around 11:00 p.m. tonight."
When an electrical circuit is overloaded or is interfered with by a natural event, a power trip occurs.
The country's western region experienced more power outages as a result of the trip.
For the past few days, the sole operating coal-fired power plant has been supplying electricity at its 748 MW maximum capacity.
Due to a lack of coal, the four other coal-fired power plants are required to reduce or cease operations.
As of 4:00 p.m. today, 3,419 MW of load shedding was occurring in Bangladesh due to a 14,800 MW demand, according to data from the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh.
Since the Payra power plant's second half shut down on May 25, the average load shedding across the nation has been between 2,500 and 3,000 MW.
Due to a lack of coal, Payra Thermal Power Plant was temporarily shut down on June 5. Due to a coal shortage, the other three coal-fired power plants are also running at a reduced capacity.
