Gigi Hadid borrowed a page from her sister Bella's fashion playbook when she debuted at Cannes in a structured fishtail gown in 2023.

Celebrities from all over the world are using the Cannes Film Festival 2023 as a significant debut platform. At Cannes 2023, Mrunal Thakur and Dua Lipa made their significant red carpet debuts. Gigi Hadid has since done the same. On the red carpet, the supermodel wore a structured cappuccino Zac Posen gown to the Firebrand (Le Jeu De La Reine) movie premiere. 

The strapless dress, which was part of his 2014 Paris Fashion Week collection, had a structured waist that resembled a peplum and a slightly flared mermaid silhouette.

Gigi was decked out in Messika jewelry, including a diamond choker necklace, bracelet, several rings, and earrings. Gigi continued the beach girl makeup look with neutral lips and bronzed skin, her blonde hair in big curls. However, it was more than just a stunning red carpet outfit; there was a backstory as well. It was none other than Bella Hadid who served as the inspiration for Gigi's Cannes debut.

Bella wore a stunning pink gown by Jean Paul Gaultier in 2018. It was also available in a strapless design with a defined waist that transitioned into a mermaid shape over the length. She accessorized it with dangling diamond earrings and a sleek bun for her black hair. Gigi's Zac Posen dress was influenced by Bella's Jean Paul gown from the designer's fall/winter 2006 couture collection. Even at Cannes, one of these two stylishly attired sisters can draw inspiration from the other.
