Rangpur Riders begin GSL campaign with a defeat in Super Over

Rangpur Riders began their Global Super League (GSL) campaign with a defeat, falling to Hampshire in a Super Over on Thursday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Hampshire were bowled out for 132 in 20 overs.
Shan Masood scored 56, Ali Orr added 28, and Tom Prest contributed 12 runs to the total.
For Rangpur, English pacer Zak Chappell was exceptional, taking 5 wickets for just 23 runs in his 4 overs. Harmeet Singh chipped in with 2 wickets.
In reply, Rangpur got off to a great start with an opening stand of 46 runs between Soumya Sarkar and Steven Taylor.
However, the team faltered after the partnership was broken. Soumya scored 27, Nurul Hasan made 24, Khushdil Shah contributed 25, and Steven Taylor added 20.
Despite their efforts, Rangpur couldn’t secure a win, and the match went into a Super Over.
Batting first in the Super Over, Rangpur managed 12 runs for the loss of 1 wicket.
In response, Hampshire chased the target with one ball to spare.
Rangpur's next match is scheduled on 1 December against the Australian club Victoria.
