Supporters of late Maulana Zubairul Hasan Kandhlawi of Tabligh Jamaat have warned that they will paralyse the Dhaka city with 24 hours’ notice if Maulana Saad, another leader of Tabligh Jamaat, tries to come to Bangladesh on the occasion of Bishwa Ijtema.
The annual gathering of the Muslims is scheduled to be held in two phases from 31 January to 2 February and 7 February to 9 February beside the bank of the Turag River in Tongi.
In a press conference organised by Olama Mashayekh Bangladesh at the Jatiya Press Club on Tuesday, Maulana Fazlul Karim Kasemi said that the supporters of Saad, who kill people and create chaos, have no right in Kakrail Mosque and Tongi Ijtema ground. If the Saad supporters go to these two places, there is a possibility that Dhaka will be immobilised within 24 hours.
While reading a written statement, Fazlul Karim Kasemi said interim government advisers are surrounded by pro-Saad people. “We want to make it clear to the important people of the government that no conspiratorial advice of the beneficiaries of the fallen fascist government can be listened to. The grounds of Kakrail Mosque and Tongi Ijtema must be always kept free of anti-ulama supporters,” he added.
He further said, “There is only one solution. They [Saad and his supporters] must return to the right path of religion by repenting.”
