The two cases were filed with Kotwali Police Station over attacking police and obstructing police in discharging duties during the clashes that broke out after the bail rejection of former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari on November 26.

The 12 suspects were produced before the court amid tight security in the morning.

Earlier, on Monday, a local court granted a seven-day remand each for eight other accused in another case for attacking the police.

Police registered the three cases on charge of police assault, vandalism, and obstructing police personnel to discharge their responsibilities during the clashes between police, lawyers, and followers of former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari.

The clashes erupted on November 26 on the court premises after Chinmoy was rejected bail in a sedition case. During the clashes, lawyer Saiful Islam Alif was killed.
