Exports grow over 17.7% in December

Export earnings grew by 17.72% in December 2024 from the same month the previous year, despite persisting political uncertainties and security lapses.
In the July-December period last year, exports also grew 12.84% year-on-year, according to data published by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).
The largest contributor to exports, the apparel sector, recorded a 13.28% yearly growth during July–December 2024-25, with earnings amounting to $19.89 billion.
Other key sectors such as leather and leather goods, agricultural products, home textiles, frozen and live fish, and plastic products also achieved positive growth during the period. However, exports of jute and jute goods experienced a decline.
