Meta's microblogging social media platform, Threads, has exceeded 100 million daily active users, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on December 17. Zuckerberg also revealed that Threads now has over 300 million monthly active users.
In a recent post on his verified account in Threads, Mark Zukerberg said, "Threads strong momentum continues -- now 300M+ monthly actives and 100M+ daily actives."
Threads has also introduced a series of feature updates including tools like custom feeds and curated collections of accounts to follow, features that appear similar to those on Bluesky. Meta is also testing a new option that would allow users to select their default feed.
By comparison another microblogging social media platform, Bluesky, which gained attention in recent weeks, now has over 25 million total users, according to Bluesky trackers.
Launched as a companion to Instagram, Threads aims to capture audiences seeking an alternative to X (formerly Twitter) and other microblogging platforms.
