Tom Cruise to star in supernatural thriller ‘Deeper’

Tom Cruise is set to star in 'Deeper', a supernatural thriller directed by Doug Liman, the filmmaker confirmed. 

 

Liman, known for 'Edge of Tomorrow' and 'American Made', revealed his plans to explore the horror genre during a screening of 'Gaucho Gaucho'. 

"I've never done one, and neither has Tom," he shared.  

Currently in early development at Warner Bros, 'Deeper' follows an astronaut encountering a terrifying force during a dive into an uncharted trench. The project was initially developed at MGM, with earlier versions involving Bradley Cooper and Idris Elba.  

If finalised, this will mark the third or fourth collaboration between Cruise and Liman. Both are also working on a NASA film set to be shot in space in collaboration with SpaceX.
