56 Myanmar nationals seek refuge in Bangladesh

As many as 56 Myanmar citizens have sought refuge in Bangladesh, fleeing the ongoing conflict in Rakhine state.
The individuals, including those from Chakma and Tanchangya communities, entered the country through the Baishfari border area under Ghumdhum union in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban Monday morning.
They took shelter near the Hindu Rohingya camp at Kutupalong in Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar, said Ukhiya Assistant Commissioner (Land) Jarin Tasnim. “The matter has been informed to the higher authorities,” she said.
Ukhiya police station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Arif Hossain said the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the police are ensuring their safety.
