The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations will be published on 15 October.

The results will be published around 11 am across the country simultaneously, Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chief of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, told newsmen on Monday.

The results of the six subjects, which were canceled due to the quota reform movement, will be prepared following the subject mapping system, he said.

A total of 25 percent of the marks the students obtained in their JSC and 75 percent in the SSC examinations will be added with the six subjects to determine the final scores, he said adding that the education ministry has given its consent in this regard.

Around 1.45 million candidates are waiting for the results, as there was uncertainty over how to handle the results of this year's examinations, which were interrupted due to the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Following the intensity of the violent movement educational educations, including schools, colleges, and universities were ordered to close indefinitely on the night of 16 Jul.

As a result, the HSC and its equivalent examinations scheduled for 18 Jul were postponed.

The examinations were initially set to resume on 4 August, however, the examinations were also later postponed again.

After the complete fall of the government, many examination centres were damaged and question papers were burned during the unrest across the country.

The postponed examinations were then slated to start on 11 September with a new schedule, but many students joined the anti-government movement without showing interest in taking part in the examinations.

As a result, the interim government has taken a decision to postpone the examinations for two weeks, offering the examinations with half of the questions.

On 20 August, over 500 examinees staged demonstration at the Bangladesh Secretariat, demanding the cancellation of the examinations.

That same day, the government accepted their demands and announced that the remaining exams would not be held.
