Appointments of 8 new DCs cancelled

The appointments of eight Deputy Commissioners (DCs) out of the 59 newly appointed have been cancelled.
Dr Md Mokhlesur Rahman, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, confirmed the matter to journalists at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
The districts where the appointments of DCs have been cancelled are-- Lakshmipur, Joypurhat, Kushtia, Rajshahi, Sirajganj, Shariatpur, Dinajpur, and Rajbari.
Besides, changes have been made to the DC positions in four more districts. The DC of Tangail has been transferred to Panchagarh, the DC of Nilphamari to Tangail, the DC of Natore to Lakshmipur, and the DC of Panchagarh to Nilphamari.
Mokhlesur Rahman said, "A selection committee prepared a fit list, and the committee met today. After reviewing the list, the appointments of eight DSc were cancelled."
Earlier, on Monday and Tuesday, 59 new DCs were appointed across the country. However, some Deputy Secretaries raised concerns about being overlooked, causing a commotion at the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday.
