DU launches anti-plagiarism software to verify Bangla text similarity

Dhaka University has launched an anti-plagiarism software to verify Bangla text similarity.
DU Vice Chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the launching of the ‘dubd21’ software on Tuesday.
A research team led by DU Technology Institute Assistant Professor Abdus Sattar created the software, says a media statement issued by the university.
“It is an extraordinary achievement for Dhaka University’s in terms of research,” said VC Akhtaruzzaman.
The software will help determine whether the MPhil and PhD thesis, journals, essays, articles and assignments of students, written in Bangla have been plagiarized.
He hoped that the software will help the rankings of the university and students, teachers and researchers will be cautious about their works in the future.
