Govt offices, banks reopen after Eid holidays

Government offices reopened in Bangladesh today (July 12, 2022) after Eid-ul-Azha holidays.

This year, government officials enjoyed holidays from July 8 to July 11, with July 8 being a Friday.

However, the turnout of officials at Dhaka's Secretariat was thin, as many extended their vacation till July 14.

Banks and financial institutions also resumed operations today.

This year, Eid-ul-Azha — the second biggest festival of the Muslims — was celebrated on July 10.

Thousands of people left Dhaka to celebrate Eid with their near and dear ones at their village homes.
