CA Yunus to observe army winter manoeuvre in Rajbari

Chief Adviser to the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to visit Rajbari on Thursday to witness a winter manoeuvre exercise conducted by an infantry brigade group of the Bangladesh Army.

The exercise, managed by the 55 Infantry Division, will take place in Charkhapura and Charramnagar areas of the Rajbari Military Training Area (RMTA) in Kalukhali upazila.

Dr Yunus is expected to arrive at the Charkhapura Military Training Area via helicopter at around 11:15am on Thursday.

He will be welcomed by Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hasan, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan, and Major General JM Imdadul Islam, commander of the 55 Infantry Division and Jessore Area.

The chief adviser will observe the manoeuvre exercise for approximately an hour. Following the demonstration, Dr Yunus will deliver the closing remarks. Advisers, senior military officials, and members of the media are also expected to attend the event.

The manoeuvre will involve participation from various arms and services, including infantry, artillery, engineers, commandos, and all-terrain personnel carriers.

Modern military assets such as Bangladesh Army tanks, fighter jets from the Bangladesh Air Force, Army Aviation aircraft, helicopters, and paratroopers will showcase their capabilities.

According to sources, Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman will also lay the foundation stone for an administrative building to accommodate army personnel at RMTA on the same day. Additionally, he will distribute winter clothing to local residents.
