BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that conspiracies have resurfaced in Bangladesh.

Without naming anyone, he said: "They are trying to sideline the party and leader who genuinely believe in Bangladesh and boldly say, 'Bangladesh comes first.' This conspiracy has happened many times before and has now started again."

He made these remarks on Wednesday evening during a discussion meeting marking the 46th founding anniversary of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal at the Engineers Institution auditorium in Ramna.

Highlighting the current political situation and crises, the BNP Secretary General said, "The only solution to this crisis is through an election acceptable to everyone. History has proven this. We have repeatedly called for this."

Mirza Fakhrul said: "Unfortunately, the game of conspiracy has begun again in Bangladesh. Just as it has happened many times before, conspiracies about Bangladesh are being hatched both at home and abroad. As a result of these conspiracies, we lost our martyred President Ziaur Rahman, Begum Khaleda Zia had to spend six years in prison, and Tarique Rahman still has to stay abroad. This conspiracy has started once again."

He asserted that such conspiracies will not succeed, saying: "We want to make it clear that the people of Bangladesh will never allow these conspiracies to succeed. There have been repeated attempts to break the BNP, but they have never been successful. Even during the so-called elections in the past, attempts were made to isolate one or two individuals, but they couldn’t succeed because BNP's politics is the people's politics. This politics is rooted in the independence, sovereignty, and democracy of the country."

Reiterating the demand for immediate elections, Mirza Fakhrul said: "We cannot allow any so-called reforms that disrupt democracy. We urge the government to arrange an election promptly and free the people of Bangladesh from this crisis."

The BNP Secretary General further said: "We have already proposed an interim government to oust fascism. We hope this interim government will implement the minimum necessary reforms—such as election-related reforms, creating a level playing field, fixing the administrative machinery, reforming the judiciary, and making necessary economic adjustments. Through this process, an election can be held that is acceptable to all."

At the beginning of his speech, Mirza Fakhrul paid tribute to all democracy-loving people of the country who, through uprisings, forced fascist Sheikh Hasina to flee the country.

Addressing the leaders and activists of the Chhatra Dal, Mirza Fakhrul said: "Chhatra Dal is our vanguard. They must now engage in knowledge-based politics. What is most needed is to fight the cyber war. We need to strengthen our presence on social media. If we fail to do this, we will lose this war. Increase your activity on social media to counter false propaganda. Conspiracies are being hatched both at home and abroad, and our responsibility is to resist them with intellect and wisdom."
