Algeria propose joint committee with Bangladesh to explore common interest

Algeria has proposed formation of an Intergovernmental Joint Committee with Bangladesh for holding discussions and consultations on issues of common interests between the two nations.
The proposal was floated by Dr. Abdelouahab Saidani, ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh, when he was paying a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, a foreign ministry press release said here today.
During their meeting, Hon'ble Adviser congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment as the Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh.
The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries with particular emphasis on cooperation in the fields of energy, education, trade, investment and agriculture.
The Algerian envoy emphasized on holding a high-level bilateral visit between the two countries as soonest possible time.
Signing of a good number of MoUs/ agreements between Bangladesh and Algeria was also explored during the meeting which includes Air Services between Dhaka-Algiers, exchange programme between Foreign Service Academies of both the countries, etc.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral mechanisms, including convening of the next round of Foreign Office Consultations to be held in Algiers at an early date.
