Chief Adviser calls for national unity

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has called for national unity and urged everyone to remain calm in the wake of a spate of violent clashes in Dhaka and Chattogram over the last few days, Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said Wednesday.
The interim government head urged unity between different groups, including student and people as well as Muslims and Hindus, the press secretary told reporters following the chief adviser’s meeting with a high-level delegation of BNP.
The BNP delegation, led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, had urged the chief adviser to build national unity in consultation with all the political parties of the country for resolving the ongoing law and order crisis.
The delegation had also urged the chief adviser to announce a roadmap to holding elections, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters after the meeting.
