HPV vaccine is very safe: Gaibandha civil surgeon

Civil Surgeon (CS) here Dr. Kaniz Sabiha said there is no reason to be panicked about HPV as the vaccine is very safe.

"HPV vaccine is tested and it is very safe so there is no possibility of being sick after taking the vaccine," she told BSS.
 
Turning to a social media claim about girls' sickness after taking HPV vaccine, the civil surgeon said sickness is not supposed to be related to the vaccine shot.

As vaccine was given to the girls through injection, they might fell panicked and became sick, she said, adding: "But it was sure that they were not sick for taking the vaccine".

She also urged the eligible girls for taking vaccine leaving all sorts of fear.

The civil surgeon said the health department has fixed up a target to provide HPV vaccine to 121, 260 girls of all seven upazilas in the district.

The vaccination campaign was launched on October 24 and it would continue till November 23, she concluded.
